The Georgetown Commons was set up to be an online space where faculty, staff and students at Georgetown University could come together as a community to create and collaborate interesting work. They could also discover all the interesting work that happens in the university.
The Hubs were an important part of the Commons as it was an internal space where a groups of users could come together to have their own Twitter-like space where they could just share quick updates. It also listed the number of people who were available at that time. It also served as a space where users could keep documents, thereby fulfilling the repository need as well.
